Homework support

Homework support

Children from families living in the Ferentari neighborhood are often disadvantaged in their schoolwork due to the lack of basic living conditions (running water, electricity, gas), and they frequently face educational failure.

Additionally, in Romania, children attend school for only half the day, and the heavy homework load can be overwhelming. That’s why the support offered after school hours is crucial for their academic progress and for ensuring their educational success.

At Casa Valentina, we want these children to benefit from decent conditions that allow them to focus on school activities, with the help of well-prepared volunteers and comfortable, quiet classrooms. With your support, we can:

  • Help them learn and adopt rules of conduct in society, within the family, and in their relationships with others (politeness, discipline, mutual help, participation in cleaning).

  • Ensure they receive at least one hot meal per day.

  • Involve them in recreational activities through age-appropriate workshops and games.

Casa Valentina provides a suitable space for supporting school-related activities, and a team of volunteers has been created and expanded to ensure proper supervision.

Each year, more than forty children, aged between 7 and 18, benefit from this program.
