On December 17, almost sixty families, accompanied by their children, attended the Christmas party organized for the beneficiaries of the Valentina association.
Since 9:00, Vasilica and Camelia, 2 volunteer mothers and the Valentina team worked to create the Christmas atmosphere in the gym of school 114, close to our day center where the event of the day took place.
The Christmas tree was on stage, decorated with garlands. Hundreds of gifts offered by employees of corporate sponsors, such as DOC PROCESS, PENTALOG, ORACLE, and some private donors are waiting to be placed under the tree. Pink packages for girls, blue packages for boys, multi-colored boxes containing surprises and this year, over 100 food packages offered by CETELEM employees for each family.
At 12:30, families started arriving for the party. The children from the kindergarten program are already on the benches installed as close to the stage as possible. They are dressed in their party clothes, their eyes shine in front of all these packages full of promises and they seem a little intimidated thinking about meeting Santa Claus – the real Santa Claus!
1:00 PM, the hall is full of children, teenagers and families, all our beneficiaries are gathered here. The atmosphere heats up, impatience is read on the faces of the little ones and, suddenly, the shouts and conversations stop to make way for the show animated by 2 actresses who delight us with the story of Little Red Riding Hood. The wolf scares the little ones, but they quickly calm down when the wolf dances and sings happily with Little Red Riding Hood.
Then, after the show, the traditional Christmas songs – carols – are performed by the children from the day care center and, amidst the roar of applause, Santa Claus appears, loaded with gifts.
On stage, Crina, Gabriela and Diana, Santa's elves, enter and the distribution of gifts begins. They have the opportunity to whisper in Santa's ear some recommendations for the children who are surprised that this character knows their secrets... Promises are then exchanged for a better future....
The celebration ends with snacks offered by Băneasa Trail Run, which has been preparing for 10 years, with NOODFOOD, wonderful fruit cakes, without sugar, that the children eat greedily.
This event, which brings together children, families, volunteers accompanied by their families, Valentina's professional team and even sponsors, is an important moment in the life of our Association. It embodies the values to which we are attached: a mixture of charity, family happiness, social harmony and solidarity. Isn't this the spirit of Christmas?
